District PTO Directory Sales have started!!!

The PTO Student Directory is a helpful tool that provides contact information for fellow students, schools, and other community members in the entire district (not just Waukee Elementary). The directory is made available for personal use by school district families and staff and is not intended for business solicitations. 

To be included in the directory, you must complete the form online by: November 11th  

If you would like to buy a copy of the directory; the cost this year is $10.00 per book.

All information received will not be edited and will appear in the book as entered online. Entering your family information without purchasing a book is an option.

This year the PTO is once again helping plan and organize classroom parties like we have done in the past, but this year with a little "twist" 

We are looking for parents to form 3 committees (K-1, 2-3, & 4-5). These committees will each plan & organize "1" party for "2" grades. On that same note, we will still be looking for a head parent to lead each classroom party -- so be looking for more information SOON!!!

"SUMMER SURPLUS" ~ District-Wide PTO Food Drive!


"SUMMER SURPLUS" ~ District-Wide PTO Food Drive!
April 30th - May 10th

The Waukee District PTO is sponsoring an end of the "school year" food drive to help fill the shelves at the Waukee Area Food Pantry for the summer.  We are so grateful for the support of the community for PTO activities and would like to give back.  

WAUKEE ELEMENTARY will be in charge of collecting 
"Boxed Food Goods" 

Examples include: 
Pancake Mix, Pizza Dough Mix, Brownie & Cake Mixes, etc.  

If you are willing, please send a boxed food item to the school starting April 30th.  The food drive will end on May 10th.  We appreciate your support and helping us give the Waukee Food Pantry a "Summer Surplus"!  If you have any questions, please contact Ginnie Coleman at waukeedistrictpto@gmail.com.

District PTO Slate Vote --- TUESDAY, APRIL 3RD 7-8 PM


District PTO Slate Vote


The Waukee Community School’s District Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is looking for volunteers to fill various leadership positions:

·      Vice Presidents for each school
·      District President
·      District Secretary
·      District Treasurer
All district positions are elected positions.  The election will take place on April 3rd from 7-8 p.m. at the Waukee School District Conference room.  Any parent with a child in the Waukee School District is encouraged to come vote.

According to the Waukee District PTO bylaws a person filling either the District President position or Building VP must be filled by a current or past PTO board member.  In the event a person is seeking to be a CO-VP and does not fulfill the requirement, the other CO-VP must be a current or past District or Building PTO Board Member.

Parents interested in the above listed district positions should call or e-mail Ginnie Coleman at 771-4083 or waukeedistrictpto@gmail.com.  Notification regarding interest in these positions must be submitted by March 27th.

Kindergarten Registration Night will be held at each elementary attendance center 
on Tuesday, March 13, 2012.
Kindergarten registration will occur online. If a family chooses to complete the registration process using the paper process, the materials may be picked up at the student’s attendance center, central administration office, or online at the district website.
